‘Originals’ episode filmed in Macon airs Tuesday

The episode of the TV series “The Originals” that was filmed last month at the Grand Opera House in Macon is scheduled to air Tuesday night on The CW at 8 p.m.

The episode, No. 15 of the season, is largely set inside the opera house. Many of the extras for the shoot wore period costumes such as vintage dresses and tuxedos that would set the episode between the 1910s and 1920s.

The production team used the Library Ballroom across the street as a staging area to prepare the extras’ costumes, hair and makeup.

A member of the production team said the opera house was used because of the classical look of its interiors.

It’s not the first time “The Originals” has filmed in Middle Georgia. A previous episode featured scenes shot in Milledgeville. The production itself is based in Atlanta.
