Hoops recruiting: Georgia looking at a big man

ATHENS - As the Georgia men's basketball team hits the stretch run for this season, it has its eye on next season as well.

Norense Odiase, a 6-foot-8 prospect originally from Nigeria, was visiting Georgia on Monday, per his Twitter account. Odiase currently attends a Florida prep school, Elev8 Sports Institute, after finishing his high school career at North Crowley (Tex.) high school.

Odiase is not highly-recruited, his previous offers reportedly at much smaller schools, such as Old Dominion. But he's a big man with a wide body (listed anywhere from 240-260 pounds), which is exactly what Georgia needs.

Texas Tech is reportedly also interested in Odiase, according to Verbalcommits.com.

Georgia is set to lose just one player after this season, forward-center Donte' Williams, a starter. It has no commitments yet for that one remaining open scholarship. The team made a run during the fall signing period at highly-rated in-state players, such as Tift County's Jakeenan Grant, who instead chose Missouri.
