I-75 work to slow traffic near Bibb-Monroe border

Construction work will slow overnight traffic along a stretch of Interstate 75 in north Bibb and south Monroe counties.

The work is scheduled to take place 8 p.m.-6 a.m. starting Sunday and running through March 9.

Crews will be closing one lane of the highway at a time, working in both directions, to repair the road and replace concrete slabs. The work is set to take place between the Arkwright Road and Pate Road exits.

The Georgia Department of Transportation said drivers should be more cautious and slow down in work areas. The changes should make travel along the road smoother.
