1. Huge Friday game: USC Upstate (17-13, 10-7) hosts East Tennessee State (17-13, 10-7) in a game that will decide third place in the conference and could help decide the regular-season champion depending on what happens Saturday when the co-leaders both play.

2. Trying to bounce back: Mercer had likely its most disappointing regular-season loss of the Bob Hoffman era Thursday at home against North Florida. The Bears (22-8, 13-4) hope to rebound against Jacksonville (12-16, 8-9).

3. Another disappointing loss: Florida Gulf Coast (19-11, 13-4) also lost Thursday, getting blown out by Lipscomb. The Eagles travel to Northern Kentucky (9-20, 5-12) on Saturday. The No. 1 seed will be decided between the Eagles and Mercer and possibly depending on what happens Friday.

4. Other Saturday games: Lipscomb (14-14, 9-8) hosts Stetson (7-22, 5-22), and Kennesaw State (6-24, 3-14) hosts North Florida (15-15, 9-8).
