Two Chattanooga, Tenn., women were arrested Sunday after Telfair County deputies caught them with contraband at Telfair State Prison.

Maria Lynne Terrell, 51, and Vila Nounay, 26, face multiple charges after investigators found bundles containing hacksaw blades, a knife, 10 cellphones and batteries, about 50 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, cigarettes, tools and other items, according to a Facebook news release from the Telfair County Sheriff’s Office.

The items would have been worth more than $10,000 inside the prison, and deputies also confiscated more than $4,100 in cash.

On Feb. 15, Telfair deputies arrested two North Carolina men caught with bundles of cellphones at McRae Correctional Facility.

Eli Perez Cordozo, 21, and Abel Gallarel, 22, are accused of planning to cut the perimeter fence and deliver the phones to inmates, according to another news release on Sheriff Chris Steverson’s Facebook page.
