Rickman to resign from Macon water board, run for chairman

Steve Rickman, a member of the Macon Water Authority for seven years, is slated to announce his resignation from that post Friday in order to run for chairman of the authority’s board.

Rickman, the current District 3 representative, has scheduled his announcement for 11 a.m. Friday at the water authority office on Second Street.

Qualifying for elections runs March 3-7.

Former Mercer University President Kirby Godsey has been serving as the interim board chairman since the death of Frank Amerson in 2012.
