Reference to Hearings begin on marijuana. I can only speak for myself like any parent or person having very ill family members. I would try anything to help before taking unauthorized medication. Therefore, if we legalize medical marijuana in one state it should be legalized in all, tested and approved by FDA, prescribed doses by doctors and processed through pharmacies. However, strict laws should be passed to protect against suing doctors and pharmacies if misused by recipients and patients become addicted and/or overdose.
Further, maybe some stipulations as to the amounts kept on hand by pharmacies needs guarded procedures as to potential break-ins and/or thefts.

Just a shadow
I returned from the Art Garfunkel concert at The Grand with mixed feelings. I do not regret attending. There were grand moments when the present almost brought the past on stage, and the hope to witness the former iconic sound that no voice but this could render was almost realized. The sincerity and effort were so honest that one knew the evening was special even though it was only a shadow of the memory that created my perhaps overzealous, even unrealistic expectation, for the night. I left the hall proud of the patrons who were gracious and outwardly grateful, for we had enjoyed what was billed as an intimate evening, with words in poem and song and poignant dialogue, and laid-bare glimpses into that past that occupy pages of our lifes scrapbooks.
I will now have to unpack a few old pieces of black vinyl to remove the perplexed expression from my grandsons face from having only witnessed the present. He was polite through the concert, supporting the audience and the artist, but I am fairly certain he was not overly impressed by the shadow of the former truly great talent.

I put an ad online and got a text about it from what I think is a scam to try to get money from me. The text wanted me to email information to them about the puppy I am selling. I did and this is what I got back:
Hi. Thanks very much for your response. I would be buying puppy you have for sale so kindly reserve it for me. You have to bear with me that I text you with regarding the puppy, its because am hearing impaired. I am sending you this email to make final reconfirmation of the puppy which am willing to buy for my son as his birthday present and I also want to let you know that payment will be by certified check or money order. However, I want to alert you on the fact that you will be receiving the check or money order this week or next week and payment will cover your cost and as well as the shipping cost to be paid to the person that will take care of the pickup in your house. So please as soon as you receive the payment, get it cashed immediately, deduct the money that accrues to you and send the remaining balance to the head office of the company that handles the shipment via Western Union.

In a world where attaboys or attagirls are all but nonexistent, I feel a real and sincere appreciation for the person/function/department of the utilities that services our area responsible for tree and limb trimming over the power lines. They are the unsung heroes this morning in our fully functioning house. Well done people.

I dont understand why some folks still expect Obama to respect the Constitution. He does not and never will. Neither does the execrable Attorney General Eric Holder. The Constitution does not allow redistribution of incomes based on government whim, or for any other reason actually. Obama will nonetheless redistribute hard-earned income to his favorite groups until he leaves office, if he does leave. I personally cant see why he would give up power just because his term is up. He has illegally bypassed Congress, ignored the will of the people, violated established state, national and international laws at will, and abetted by a fawning press and appears to have no worries about potential legal problems with his behavior. Why should he give up his and Michelles plush lifestyles just because of some outdated constitutional amendment about term limits passed during some prior administration?
Im sure Holder can come up with a term limit ruling favorable to his boss. Perhaps a national emergency would do the trick? After all, term limits should really be limited to lesser presidents who abide by silly laws, not for an imperial president such as the current resident.
The Obama/Holder team philosophy seems to be: The law is what we say it is, not what was agreed to on some dumb old piece of paper that happened to have passed Congress, now get out of my way. Thanks a lot to those four million lazy Republicans (who voted against Obama in 2008) who decided not to vote in 2012, and to the growing horde of low information voters who combined to allow the continuation of a national nightmare.

I wish to affirm the excellent letter by Dr. Saymeh in the Feb. 6 issue of The Telegraph. My colon cancer was found in November during a routine colonoscopy exam which I have had on a five year cycle since I was 50. My father and two of his brothers have had colon cancer, so my sisters, cousins and I follow this preventive measure. My case was an early detection although after colon surgery, the pathology revealed cancer cells in two of 25 nodes. I am now in chemotherapy with a good outlook for the future thanks to my gastrologist, surgeon, and oncologist.
As the letter suggests, there were no symptoms to clue me as to what was happening within my body. I urge those that are prescribed a colonoscopy to do it. It can save your life.

Get out and vote
I think it is very important to address and stress the significance of voter education and registration. Participation in this mid-term election, as it is called, is as important as any other election that is held. The religious and political leaders must stress how important it is to vote to their constituencies.
This is an election that will determine the direction of our city and county for the next four years. We must get our families and friends interested and involved enough to participate in this up coming election. Get registered, the election is near. Early voting begins April 28 and primary voting is May 20. Vote. Lets not delay

I greatly resent the fact I cant click on a news article and watch it due to the pop up that stays there wanting me to pay to watch it. I subscribe to The Telegraph and its delivered every day. Why would I pay again to see something when I should be able to click on it and read it when I want. It is not a nice practice to us who have been faithful to buy the newspaper for years. We may miss something in the paper and want to see it while on line. This is not sitting well with me.

Prayer for Today
O God, I thank you for what you are about to do in my life. Give me a mind to always humble myself in your presence, realizing its never about me, its always about you. Thank you for not allowing me to be self exalted. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
