TELVIN KEON JACKSON

A third suspect was arrested Tuesday afternoon in connection with the theft of eight AR-15 rifles and more than 60 handguns from a Bibb County gun shop in November.

Four people broke into Classic Firearms on Nov. 21 at 5854 Columbus Road and stole more than $60,000 in merchandise. Tuesday’s arrest of Telvin Keon Jackson, 21, is the third in the case.

Bibb County sheriff’s deputies found Jackson about 12:30 p.m. near a Taco Bell trash container after a foot chase through the North Park Shopping Center near Northside Drive and Tom Hill Sr. Boulevard, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

The sheriff’s Special Response Team arrested Jackson on a warrant for the charge of burglary and two other warrants for theft by taking. He also faces charges for probation violation, contempt of court, criminal trespass, simple battery and battery-family violence. He was being held in the Bibb County jail on a $17,850 bond late Tuesday.

Shamarko Treyvonne Newson Jr. and Joshua Dewayne Logan were arrested Nov. 23, as co-conspirators in the gun shop burglary. Both are being held at the Bibb County jail without bond on multiple felony charges with holds from several other law enforcement agencies.

Additional arrests are pending in connection to the case, the news release stated. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 478-751-7500 and leave a message for the on-call investigator or call Macon Regional CrimeStoppers at 877-68-CRIME.
