FORT VALLEY -- Carver-Columbus never trailed and ran away from Central for a 74-55 win in the GHSA Region 2-AAA championship game Monday at Peach County.
Drelon Freeman made five 3-pointers and scored 20 points in the first half as the Tigers mounted a double-digit lead in the first quarter. Freeman finished the game with six 3s and 24 points.
Khane Pass scored 13 and Kimiun Woods, Jawon Pass and Dominique Johnson each scored 10, respectively.
Terry McCoy scored 11 to lead Central, which split two regular-season games with Carver.
Central (21-7) didnt make a field goal until Charquez Jackson scored on a layup with 6:25 left to play in the second quarter.
The Chargers made a bit of a run to cut a 15-point deficit down to 10 and they stayed within 12 late in the second quarter.
But Freeman couldnt miss from long range and Carver turned the lead into more than 25 in the third quarter.
