Two people were arrested in connection with a Wednesday morning armed robbery at a motel near Interstate 475.

Chartisti Rouse, 22, of Macon, is accused of pointing a gun at a man and forcing him inside a room at America’s Best Inn on Harrison Road about 4:20 a.m., according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Alexis Balkcom, 20, of Jeffersonville, is accused of being inside the room and demanding money from the victim.

Sheriff’s deputies and investigators went to the room where the incident occurred and both Rouse and Balkcom, who matched the victim’s descriptions of the robbers, were found, the release stated.

Balkcom and Rouse face armed robbery charges and are currently being held without bond at the Bibb County jail. Rouse also was arrested on State Court bench warrants unrelated to the armed robbery.
