AARP offers free tax preparation services in midstate

The AARP Foundation is offering its Tax-Aide services at several midstate locations through the tax filing season.

The program aims to assist low- to moderate-income taxpayers, with special attention to those 60 and older, in filing their tax return. Services, performed by volunteers, are available for free.

Taxes are due April 15.

Middle Georgia locations include:

• Red Cross Chapter House, 195 Holt Ave., Macon. Hours: 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Walk-ins welcome.

• Warner Robins Senior Activity Center, 152 Maple St., Warner Robins. Hours: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday. Walk-ins welcome.

• Thomas Public Library, 315 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Fort Valley. Hours: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesdays. Walk-ins welcome.

• Perry Volunteer Outreach, 733 Carroll St., Perry. Hours: Noon-3 p.m. Wednesday; 9 a.m.-noon Saturdays. Walk-ins welcome.

• Mary Vinson Memorial Library, 151 S. Jefferson St., Milledgeville. Hours: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursdays. Walk-ins welcome.
