Family Dollar in Macon robbed Saturday night

The Family Dollar store on Shurling Drive was robbed of cash Saturday night, according to a news release.

The suspect, armed with a handgun and a black mask covering his face, came in the store at 3002 Shurling Drive about 8:45 p.m. and demanded money from an employee at the register, the release stated.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect ran from the store. No one was injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with any information is asked to call 751-7500 and leave a message for an on-call investigator or call Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 877-682-7463.
