A Macon man is in stable condition after being struck by a vehicle Saturday night.

The driver of the vehicle, a dark colored truck, fled the scene, according to a Bibb Sheriff’s Office release.

Willie Cartilage, 48, was walking across Gray Highway at Graham Road when he was struck at about 6:40 p.m., the release stated. He was wearing dark-colored clothing.

The sheriff’s office advises that anyone walking at night wear bright or reflective clothes, carry a flashlight, and only cross at well-lighted areas or a pedestrian crosswalk.
