A trailer park manager fired two pistol rounds at men accused of trying to take a gas tank from a vacant trailer lot, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident happened Thursday morning at the Sky View Mobile Home Park on Houston Road.

The trailer park manager told deputies he confronted two men after getting calls about thieves stealing a gas tank, according to a sheriff’s office incident report. One of the men, Randall Moseley of Lizella, tried to leave in a truck. The park manager blocked his path, and Moseley attempted to run him over, the report said.

The manager told deputies he fired two rounds from his pistol in self defense and that Moseley escaped. The other man, Christopher Easton of Macon, was found by deputies next to a gas tank with a rope tied around it, the report said.

“I know what it looks like, but we weren’t stealing,” Easton told deputies.

Deputies found Moseley on Hartley Bridge Road with two bullet holes on the driver side of the Dodge Ram he was driving.

Both Easton and Moseley are currently at the Bibb County jail on charges of theft by taking. Moseley also is charged with aggravated assault.
