Hobby Lobby begins hiring process for Macon store next week

Hobby Lobby, which announced in September it was building a store in north Macon, will begin taking applications next week to fill between 35 and 50 jobs.

Applications will be accepted in person only from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday at 5019 Riverside Drive, across from The Shoppes at River Crossing, according to a news release.

“After these dates, no more applications will be accepted until after the store has opened for business,” the release stated.

The company reported in September that its jobs pay about $14 an hour for full-time and $9.50 an hour for part-time workers.

The store’s projected grand opening is March 10.

Stores are open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and are closed Sundays. Departments include floral, fabric, needle art, custom framing, baskets and scrapbooking supplies.

The 55,000-square-foot Macon store is the Oklahoma-based craft and home decor retailer’s 27th location in Georgia. Hobby Lobby also has a store in Warner Robins, and the Milledgeville store opened last fall.
