Guardrail repairs to slow traffic Monday

Contractors will be repairing interstate highway guardrails Monday, which will slow traffic as lanes are closed for safety.

Work will start on Interstate 75 southbound in Butts County around 8 a.m. near Ga. 16’s Exit 205. Around 10:30 a.m., crews will shift to Interstate 475 southbound in Monroe County near U.S. 41’s Exit 15.

Crews will move to Interstate 75 southbound in Bibb County around 1:30 p.m., when they’ll close a lane near the Interstate 16 interchange at Exit 165. That work is slated to be done by 4:30 p.m.

From 4:30-5:30 p.m., crews are scheduled to work on Interstate 16 eastbound in Bibb County near the interchange with Interstate 75.

The Georgia Department of Transportation says crews will be moving frequently, so motorists should reduce speeds and stay alert in work zones.
