A $100,000 bond was set Thursday for a 35-year-old Macon man accused of raping and sodomizing a young girl in 2009 and 2010.

Leroy Anthony Holmes II, of Columbus Drive, is charged with rape and aggravated child molestation, according to an indictment filed in January.

The girl was 9 or 10 years old at the time of the alleged sex acts, prosecutor Jimmy Daniels said.

“He threatened to kill the victim, the victim’s mother and the victim’s brother if she told anyone,” Daniels said. “The defendant once put a gun in the victim’s face.”

Daniels said the molestation lasted two to three years and then stopped. Years later, the girl read a Facebook conversation between Holmes and another alleged molestation victim and told a family member what had happened to her.

Holmes admitted to the girl’s family that he’d had sex with her, Daniels said.

His lawyer, Geoff Bard, said Holmes has worked as a personal care assistant. His arrest in the case is his first.

If Holmes posts a bail bond, he is prohibited from having contact with anyone younger than 18 or with the girl and her immediate family.
