Warner Robins offers Citizen Police Academy

The Warner Robins Police Department is registering people for its Citizen Police Academy.

The 12-week program will be Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. beginning March 6 and running through May 22. It will be offered at the Warner Robins Police Department Training Center, 212 Stalnaker Ave. Classes are free, and participants don’t have to be a resident of Warner Robins.

Participants will learn about law enforcement hiring, investigations, the SWAT team, use of force, firearms and other issues. People will also experience training associated with police work and ride with patrol officers on duty.

McMahon to speak at MOAA meeting

The Middle Georgia Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America will meet at 6 p.m. Feb. 13 at The Landings restaurant. The speaker will be retired Maj. Gen. Robert McMahon, former commander of the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center and current president and CEO of the 21st Century Partnership. Those who wish to attend are asked to RSVP by 6 p.m. Sunday to Bill Goodwin at wsgoodwin@cox.net.
