Byron man shoots himself in knee

A Byron man shot himself in the right knee Monday afternoon.

Crawford County sheriff’s deputies found Kermit Gregory Collins, 53, on Oak Run Drive about 4 p.m. with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

Mid Georgia Ambulance drove Collins to the Medical Center of Central Georgia with a non-life threatening injury.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office will investigate the incident further, the release states.
