The public is invited to listen to presentations this week from the finalists for a new master plan for the revitalization of downtown Macon.

The finalists to conduct the new Urban Core Master Plan are K2 Urban Design from Savannah and Interface Studio from Philadelphia, according to a news release. Each firm has extensive experience in creating publicly driven master plans that have fostered revitalization efforts in downtowns across America, the release said.

The presentation will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Douglass Theatre, 355 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. It is coordinated by the Macon-Bibb County Urban Development Authority.

The public will be invited to rate the presentations and give feedback before the final selection of a firm that will guide the yearlong planning effort with the community. Business owners, property owners and residents are encouraged to attend.

Presentations will be made available for public comment after the meeting as well.
