Warner Robins offers citizen police academy

WARNER ROBINS -- The Warner Robins Police Department is registering people for its Citizen Police Academy.

The 12-week program will run Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. beginning March 6 and running through May 22. It will be offered at the Warner Robins Police Department Training Center, 212 Stalnaker Ave. Classes are free, and participants don’t have to be a resident of Warner Robins.

Participants will learn about law enforcement hiring, investigations, the SWAT team, use of force, firearms and other issues. People will also experience training associated with police work and ride with patrol officers on duty.
