An elderly woman dressed in pajamas who walked away early Thursday from a Macon retirement center has been found safe.

Bibb deputies combed the streets for the woman who left on foot in her pink slippers from the Macy’s Retirement Center at 4408 Houston Ave.

The temperature was 13 degrees at about 6 a.m. when she left, but she turned up a short time later at The Medical Center of Central Georgia and was in good condition.
