Only pay for what we want
I just got an increase of $5 on my dish bill. What makes no sense is that we get more than 150 channels and only watch 25 at the most, why dont they let us pick and choose the channels we want to watch? Same goes for the SiriusXM radio. They charge for 150 stations and we only listion to maybe five.
Wouldnt it make sense to let us pick and choose what we want to watch and listion to and charge just for those stations we want?

I had an extremely bad night for sleeping. I woke up a lot and had trouble getting back to sleep. I think the problem with my sleep might have been the impending Snowpocalypse 2014.
Unfortunately for me, I watched some of Nationalist Broadcasting Companys Weather Channel before bed. Apparently, through some subliminal thought process, they had me believing we are all going to die due to the impending Snowpocalypse here in Middle Georgia. Many times throughout the night Id awake and jump to my feet thinking I was hearing the sounds of snowflakes hitting the roof. A quick check outside proved it was dark. Dark is not good when youre thinking the world as we know it is going to end due to climate change and the impending disaster Snowpocalypse.
According to the Weather Channel, I thought the polar vortex sounded like an impending disaster, something akin to visitors from a sci-fi movie. You know how the announcer in a bad sci-fi movie sounds with a deep voice, saying, the dreaded polar vortex is here. Somehow we survived the polar vortex, but here we are a couple weeks later and the world is ending with Snowpocalypse 2014.
Being the field reporter that I am, Ill bring you updates as we perish on the planet as it happens. I can say this, Im tired from the lack of sleep waiting for the end to come.
Looking outside, my observations are somewhat scary, no animals are moving, the sky is gray and its 35 degrees, no traffic on the streets and the schools are closed. Certainly this means the end is near. I have to ask myself, just what the hell am I going to do with all the petrol I bought for the new generator? Did I really need to keep the milk and bread in the refrigerator?
For those of us who are old enough to live through the last ice age during the last millennia here in Middle Georgia, Ill simply tell all those Gen Ys out there, you aint seen nothing. On Feb. 9, 1973 starting at 9:23 a.m., we were all walking butt naked through the snow to get home from work.

When to stop
Once again, I come to you with the answer to a question I am frequently asked: When is a driver required to stop when passing a school bus?
Georgia law requires a driver to come to a complete stop any time they are preparing to pass a school bus which has its stop sign and lights activated and to wait until the bus driver releases the warnings.
The driver has to stop if he or she is traveling in the same direction or the opposite direction from the bus. It does not matter how many lanes are on the road, or whether or not there is a designated turn-lane in the road. Only where the lanes are separated by a median is the driver traveling in the opposite direction allowed to proceed. A median is an area between the lanes typically covered in dirt or grass. A separate lane for deceleration is not a median.
For example, Gray Highway from Interstate 16 to Shurling Drive has no median, and there is no passing. Past Shurling Drive, there is a median and passing in the opposite direction is allowed. Northside Drive has no areas where the opposite lane can proceed.
The violation of this law will cause six points to be assessed against the drivers license. This is tied for the most points assessed for any violation. In addition, the driver can be fined up to $1,000. Worst of all, if a child is injured, the driver is facing a felony.
Finally, please do not rely on the legality of passing a school bus. Keep in mind that the bus driver is dealing with children constantly. It is possible they may forget to put out the stop sign or activate warning indicators.
Be safe. Just because you can legally pass a school bus does not mean you should. Getting where you are going 30 seconds earlier is not as important as watching out for our children.

When China bought Smithfield, I started looking at other American purchases they have made. Earlier, I wrote about their aggressiveness in America and Congress willingness to allow billions of dollars in purchases that are not in our best interests. Yesterday, the point made by Japan about their aggressive move surrounding an island near Japan was raised again.
Although Japan and Germany were more aggressive in seeking worldwide control by entering World War II, China is making economic and military moves. Their counterfeiting is costing American companies hundreds of billions of dollars From electronics to clothing. Our Congress is sitting idly by.
With most eyes on the Olympics, the second wave of attack is becoming more evident. Terrorism is alive and well worldwide. We are spending billions of dollars at airports while folks just stroll up from Mexico. There are 1.3 billion Chinese, 1.2 billion Muslims and the two are making major inroads around the world while America continues to bury itself in debt and lapses into a coma on education, and continues rapidly toward socialism. -- Joe Hubbard
Heavenly Father, as we come boldly to your throne of grace and mercy asking you, Lord, to forgive us for our sins, forgive us for anything that we have done displeasing in your sight. Build us up where we are torn down; strengthen us where we are weak and make our path straight so we may be able to go and do your will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
