Government and public service delays, closings for Thursday

A roundup of governmental delays and closings for Thursday.


• The Baldwin County Courthouse and all other county government offices will open at 10 a.m. Thursday. Baldwin County Transit will resume operation at noon Thursday.


• County offices will reopen at noon Thursday.


• Robins Air Force Base has implemented delayed reporting three hours later than normal. Those living on base are to report at 9 a.m. The child development center also opens at 9 a.m. with the commissary, base exchange and medical clinic opening at 10 a.m.

• Houston County government will reopen at noon Thursday. Superior, State, Magistrate and Juvenile courts staff should report at noon Thursday, but jurors, defendants and attorneys should report at 1 p.m.

• City of Centerville will open at 1 p.m.Thursday.

• City of Perry will open at noon Thursday.

• City of Warner Robins will open at noon Thursday.

• Houston County libraries will open at noon Thursday.

• The Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Eggs & Issues event, which was scheduled for Thursday, has been canceled and will be rescheduled for a later date.


• Jones County government offices will reopen at 1 p.m. Thursday.

• City of Gray offices will reopen at noon Thursday.


• Macon-Bibb County government offices will reopen at noon Thursday.

• Fallen trees and dangerous road conditions and other weather related hazards should be reported to the Macon-Bibb County Emergency Management Agency at 478-832-6300.

• Garbage pickup is planned to resume Thursday afternoon, one day behind the regular schedule; those scheduled for Wednesday pickup will have trash removed Thursday, while those who usually get Thursday pickup should get it Friday.

• Macon Water Authority plans to open offices at noon Thursday. To report an emergency, a service outage or to report a break, call MWA’s 24 hour hot-line at 478-464-5656.

• Bibb County Superior Court jurors should not report to the courthouse Thursday morning. They should call 478-621-6000 for instructions after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday night.

• A community meeting planned to gather input about Pinnacle Park, a proposed park bordered by Bright and Second streets and Rosecrest and Edgewood avenues, has been rescheduled for 6 p.m. Feb. 4 at the Buck Melton Community Center.


• Monroe County offices will reopen at noon Thursday.

• City of Forsyth offices will reopen at 9 a.m. Thursday. The emergency operations center is open at the Forsyth Fire Department.


• Peach County government offices will open at 10 a.m. Thursday.

• Byron government offices will open at 10 a.m. Thursday.

• Fort Valley offices will open at regular hours Thursday.


• All Georgia Department of Labor offices will be closed Thursday. Unemployment insurance claims may be filed and information about career assistance can be obtained at
