A 17-year-old boy admitted drinking alcohol and then playing with his father’s revolver Saturday afternoon before shooting himself in the leg.

The incident happened on Whisper Lane in Macon, according to an incident report from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The teen told the reporting deputy that he retrieved his father’s Ruger revolver from a drawer in his room. He pointed it at his leg and pulled the trigger, the report stated.

Two other teenagers were in the room when the incident happened, and all of them gave the same account. They had all been drinking, the report stated.

The victim was taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia, where he was treated for his injuries.
