A 57-year-old Macon man pleaded guilty to aggravated child molestation Monday and was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

After his release, Paul Thomas must live the rest of his life on probation, according to the Bibb County District Attorney’s Office.

Thomas, of Mimosa Drive, initially was charged with statutory rape, two counts of aggravated child molestation, three counts of sexual battery on a child under 16, and two counts of criminal attempt to commit a felony. All charges except one count of aggravated child molestation have been dismissed, said prosecutor DeShala Dixon.

In 2012, a 13-year-old girl told authorities that Thomas had been molesting her since she was 8 and that he started having sex with her after she turned 13, Dixon said.

Two other girls, ages 11 and 12, also accused Thomas of molesting them, she said.

Thomas has been held at the county jail since March 2012, according to jail records.
