Clerk hurt in Houston Avenue robbery

Bibb County deputies are looking for a masked man who robbed a store Sunday night at 3472 Houston Ave.

At around 7:30 p.m., the man dressed in a gray jacket and mask confronted the clerk at the Houston Mart and demanded money without showing a weapon, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The robber went behind the counter and grabbed a cash register and part of another register, cutting the employee in the process, the release stated.

The man, whose race is unknown, was about 5 feet 11 inches tall with a stocky build. He was wearing blue jeans, white gloves, a dark colored T-shirt under his coat, and dark colored tennis shoes.
