A 38-year-old Macon man who asked a bank teller “if robbing a bank was a federal offense” before robbing an east Macon bank in 2013 has been sentenced to serve 63 months in federal prison.

Kyle Clemons was sentenced Thursday in federal court in Macon, according to a news release.

Clemons, who pleaded guilty to bank robbery in September, has admitted he entered State Bank, 614 Shurling Drive, and demanded money from a teller. The teller gave Clemons approximately $620 and he left, according to the release.
