Teen arrested in weekend armed robbery in Perry

PERRY -- An 18 year old is accused of a Saturday armed robbery of the Choice Food Mart at 1521 Macon Road, police said.

Jake David Snell, of Perry, was charged with armed robbery, possession of a firearm during a crime and fleeing, a Perry police news release stated. Snell was being held Tuesday at the Houston County jail.

Snell is accused of coming into the convenience store at 5:23 p.m., brandishing a handgun and demanding money from the clerk, the release stated.

He fled on foot but was spotted afterward in a vehicle at Marsh Circle and Park Avenue. He was taken into custody without additional incident after a brief police chase. Items stolen in the robbery were found in the vehicle, the release stated.
