A 23-year-old Ashburn man has been charged with murder in the Jan. 14 death of a man found deceased in the backyard of a Houston County home.

Houston County deputies received information from the Turner County Sheriff’s Office during their investigation of 30-year-old Kerry Benald Glenn’s death, according to a Houston County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Glenn, who lived in the 300 block of Ga. 224 West about three miles from Perry, died of a single gunshot wound to the head.

A family friend discovered Glenn’s body near the back porch while baby-sitting at Glenn’s home.

Information received from Turner County deputies led investigators to identify Jamarcus Akeem Clark as a suspect, according to the release.

Clark led Turner County deputies and members of the Crisp, Turner and Tift response team on a brief foot chase before he was arrested Sunday, according to the release.

He is being held at the Houston County Detention Center without bond, according to the release.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Houston County Sheriff’s Office at 542-2080 or 542-2085.
