Man indicted in second case involving sex acts with children

A man serving a prison sentence for aggravated child molestation was indicted Tuesday on allegations he raped and molested a girl in 2003 and 2004.

Jimmy Lewis Battle, a 47-year-old inmate at Dooly State Prison, is charged with rape and aggravated child molestation, according to an indictment filed in Bibb County Superior Court.

The girl, now 16, was between 7 and 8 years old when the alleged sex acts occurred. She recently disclosed the abuse to a family member, according to the Bibb County District Attorney’s Office.

Battle pleaded guilty to aggravated child molestation in 2006 in connection with an allegation he molested a child in 2004. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison, followed by five on probation, according to court records.
