Residents of Winship Heights can give their opinions at a public meeting Thursday on the noise barrier planned along Interstate 75 in that area.

The Georgia Department of Transportation will hold a meeting from 5-7 p.m. at Northwoods Academy, 709 Pierce Ave., according to a news release from GDOT spokeswoman Kimberly Larson.

Part of the planned interchange improvements for the I-16 and I-75 juncture is a noise and visual barrier on I-75 through Winship Heights. A map of the site, meeting information and a comment card should be available at www.i16i75.com until Jan. 26, Larson said. Printed information will also be available at the Macon GDOT office, 4499 Riverside Drive.

At the Thursday night meeting GDOT representatives will give a short presentation on the project, then answer questions and ask for public comments on the barrier design.
