ATHENS - Mark Fox's reaction in the waning moments of Wednesday's upset win at Missouri received national attention. Still grieving over the recent loss of his father, Fox cried on the bench, and a picture of Fox emotionally hugging player Nemanja Djurisic was widely tweeted out.

But a couple days later, the Georgia head coach said he was "a little embarrassed" over the attention his personal loss got.

"It became too much a story about that," Fox said. "It should have been about the team."

Several players also said that while they felt for their coach's loss, it didn't figure into why they played so well, winning at No. 21 Missouri in overtime, 70-64.

In the aftermath of the win, and the story of Fox's father, Fox heard an outpouring of support and well-wishes, including from U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss of Georgia, ESPN anchor Scott Van Pelt, and "too many people to respond to, which I feel bad about."

More on Georgia, which now shifts to hosting Alabama on Saturday, in a story later.
