Staff reportJanuary 7, 2014

Early-voting tallies are winding down as the Jan. 14 special election for the District 2 post on the Macon-Bibb County Commission approaches.

On Tuesday, 35 voters cast ballots in the race at the board of elections office on Pio Nono Avenue. On Monday, 41 voters did so, and 96 people voted Saturday, bringing the three-day total to 172, the elections office reported.

Henry Ficklin and Larry Schlesinger face each other Tuesday after a judge threw out the results of a previous runoff election, citing voting flaws.
