Beginning Monday, the inbound lane of the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard gate at Robins Air Force Base will close until March 8.

The gate was scheduled to close this week, and was closed Monday, causing traffic to back up entering the base. However, the contractor doing the work wasn’t ready to start, said base spokesman Roland Leach, so the closure was delayed a week.

The outbound lane of the gate will remain open.

The Georgia Air National Guard gate on the north end of the base will be open 6-8 a.m. for inbound and outbound traffic while the inbound lane of the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard gate is closed.

The outbound lane of the Georgia Air National Guard gate will be for right turn only.

The Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard gate is being closed for resurfacing of the road, according to a release.
