Call for the mailbag (updated)

semerson@macon.comJanuary 7, 2014

ATHENS - A few of you wrote me last week, asking when the post-season mailbag would come. My answer was that I wanted to wait until the full college football season was done. But the real reason was I wanted to wait a bit after the Gator Bowl, so I wouldn't be inundated with angry questions asking why the Butts-Mehre wasn't being burned to the ground.

I was in fact inundated with angry e-mails calling for the Butts-Mehre to be burned down. But they weren't specifically for the mailbag. So that's nice.

So now let's do the real thing. Please send any questions to me at semerson@macon.com, or tweet at @sethemerson, or post in the comment section below. As always, I request, but do not require, that you provide your city and state/country of residence.

And as always, your submission will have a greater chance of making the cut if:

a) It is focused, and not a rambling dissertation on the thoughts in your head. (That's my job.)

b) It is just one question, rather than four or five. I'm not opposed to it, but it hurts the overall flow of the mailbag.

c) I'm adding a new one: Please spell out coaches' names. His name is Mark Richt, not CMR. His name is Todd Grantham, not CTG. I'll forgive (but not condone) people doing this on Twitter, but when you don't have a character limit ... Yes, I'm a curmudgeon. Sorry, but this grates on me.

So let's do this. I'll post the mailbag later in the week. Fire away.
