Reports: Georgia Tech quarterback Lee transferring

sports@macon.comJanuary 2, 2014

Georgia Tech starting quarterback Vad Lee intends to transfer, according to reports by Rivals and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Lee passed for 1,561 yards and 11 touchdowns with 10 interceptions as a sophomore. He also rushed for 513 yards and eight touchdowns on 182 carries (2.8 yards per carry). He completed just 45.6 percent of his passes though, including just 5-of-17 passes in the Yellow Jackets' loss to Mississippi in the Music City Bowl.

Lee rushed for 544 yards and nine touchdowns on 96 carries in limited duty as a freshman.

Lee is a redshirt sophomore, so he would have two years of eligibility remaining and could play next season if he transferred to a FCS program.

ESPN’s Joe Schad reported on twitter Lee said, “The triple option wasn’t really my thing.”
