The Middle Georgia Alliance to End Regional Trafficking and the Crisis Line & Safe House of Central Georgia are looking for volunteers to participate in a notice distribution event Jan. 11 on Human Trafficking Awareness Day in Macon and Bibb County.

At 10 a.m., Mayor Robert Reichert will sign a proclamation naming Jan. 11 Human Trafficking Awareness Day in Macon and Bibb County.

Afterwards, volunteers will distribute notices at area hotels instructing management to obey a recently passed state law (House Bill 141) that makes it mandatory for certain businesses to display the national human trafficking hotline phone number.

A concert by The DoorHolders and a late lunch will follow, according to The Middle Georgia Alliance to End Regional Trafficking Facebook page.
