What’s open, what’s not for New Year’s Day

Banks: American Pride Bank, Bank of America, BB&T, Capital City Bank, CB&T Bank of Middle Georgia, CertusBank, Colony Bank, Heritage Bank of the South, State Bank and Trust, SunTrust Bank and Wells Fargo will be closed Wednesday. MidSouth Federal Credit Union and Robins Federal Credit Union will close at 1 p.m. Tuesday and will be closed Wednesday. SunMark Community Bank will close at 2 p.m. Tuesday and will be closed Wednesday.

Government offices: Offices for the cities of Byron, Forsyth, Gray, Jeffersonville, Macon, Perry, Roberta and Warner Robins as well as offices for Bibb, Crawford, Jones, Monroe, Peach and Twiggs counties will be closed Wednesday. Offices for the city of Centerville and for Houston County will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Offices for the city of Fort Valley will close at noon Tuesday and will be closed Wednesday. The Department of Family and Children Services, the labor department as well as state and federal courts will be closed Wednesday.

Mail delivery: No delivery Wednesday.

Garbage: Garbage routes in the cities of Byron, Centerville, Fort Valley, Perry and Warner Robins as well as Bibb, Crawford, Houston and Peach counties will not run Wednesday and will run one day behind through Saturday. Garbage routes in Macon will not run Wednesday and will run one day behind through Friday.

Libraries: The library in Houston County and the Middle Georgia Regional Library will close at 6 p.m. Tuesday and will be closed Wednesday. The library in Peach County will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
