Kwanzaa celebration schedule in Macon announced

Kwanzaa, an African-American holiday created in 1966, began its celebration Thursday night at the Douglass Theatre, which is hosting the Kwanzaa Unity Day Celebration at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

On Friday the Kwanzaa Youth Night Kujichagulia is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Douglass in downtown Macon with free admission.

Other invents include: Ujamaa Money Circle Discussion, Sunday, time and location to be announced; Night of Purpose, Monday, 6:30 p.m. at the Ruth Hartley Mosley Women’s Center, 626 Spring St., free admission; and the Kwanzaa Kuumba Feast, Tuesday, 4 p.m. at Stone Academy/Booker T. Washington Center, free admission.
