Chuck Leavell and Friends perform Saturday at Cox Capitol Theatre.

SPECIAL TO THE TELEGRAPH

Chuck Leavell brings a high level of entertainment and excitement to his performances, and for Saturday’s show at the Cox Capitol Theatre, he’s also bringing friends.

“There’s no telling who he’s bringing. Chuck Leavell is a name who could bring anybody. We are just as excited to see who he brings as everyone else is,” said Roger Riddle, marketing manager for the Moonhanger Group, which manages the Cox Capitol Theatre, the Rookery and Dovetail.

Randall Bramblett will be there for sure, Riddle said.

“They are both such favorites of Middle Georgians; I can’t wait to see what happens.”

Leavell has played keyboard and piano with, among others, Eric Clapton, the Rolling Stones, the Black Crowes, Blues Traveler and the Allman Brothers Band. Saturday’s performance benefits the Allman Brothers Band Museum at the Big House, with whom the Moonhanger Group is partnering.

“This show will kick off a series of concerts we’re working together on,” Riddle said. “We’re excited to team up with the Big House because it gives us the opportunity to reach more people who want to see live shows but also to bring in some big names.”
