What do you like to cook?: “I enjoy pit barbecue -- the smoked meat tradition,” he said. “My favorite cuisine takes on American Southern traditions ... and incorporates a lot of different foods.”

The most unusual thing you’ve done: “One of the silliest was to see all of Rome in one day, all on foot,” he said.

Pets: Cats named Malia and Sasha.

The appliance you use the most: “Easily the stove top,” he said. “I do as much as I can in a frying pan.”
