Macon police made an arrest after executing an undercover gambling operation Thursday.

The operation took place about 2:30 p.m. at a store at 4390 Bloomfield Road.

An undercover officer went inside and used city-issued funds to play a coin-operated machine. When he reached 120 credits, he opted to “cash out.” The clerk behind the counter handed $120 to the undercover officer, according to the report released Friday.

Ghanshyam Patel, the clerk, 53, was arrested on charges of keeping a place of gambling and taken to the Bibb County jail, according to the report.
