Making Macon Snow

mstucka@macon.comDecember 5, 2013

Oscar Chavez blasts a torrent of snow in 72-degree temperatures in Macon's Mercer Village. The College Hill Corridor arranged for machinery and workers from The Snow Kings of Atlanta, and ice from Adel, to put a 100-foot snow slide on Montpelier Avenue.

The slide, and a foot-deep snow play area, were among Thursday's "Christmas in the Corridor" events. Other activities included Mercer University's tree lighting, s'mores roasting, horse and carriage rides, carolers and a gift fair.
