Macon, Bibb leaders to perform in Saturday fundraiser

Macon and Bibb County elected officials are hosting the first Taste of Macon-Bibb Follies at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Douglass Theatre.

The event is an evening of music, laughs and food to raise money for the Georgia Civic Awareness Program for Students. Scheduled performers include Macon Mayor Robert Reichert; Macon City Council members Larry Schlesinger, Lonnie Miley and Elaine Lucas; state Sen. David Lucas; Bibb County Commissioner Lonzy Edwards; Magistrate Court Judge William Randall and others. Bibb County Commissioner Bert Bivins and Clerk of Superior Court Erica Woodford will perform as Ike and Tina Turner, and Macon-Bibb County Commissioner-elect Scotty Shepherd will perform as The Big Bopper.

Tickets are $10 and available on the fourth floor of the Bibb County Courthouse, (478) 621-6400. Food will be provided by Francar’s Buffalo Wings.
