A Bibb County student was jailed Wednesday after a fight.

Bobby Lee Dumas Jr., 17, was booked into the Bibb County jail about 9 a.m. Wednesday after his arrest by school police. He faces charges of simple battery and simple battery against a public school system employee.

School system spokeswoman Stephanie Hartley said she could not identify a student enrolled in a Elam Alexander Academy program on the Northeast High School campus. However, a student from that program was involved in a fight, and a staff member who tried to break up the fight received a cut above the right eye. That employee was treated at the school for the injury.
