East Dublin man charged with murder

A 73-year-old East Dublin man has been charged with murder.

Laurens County EMS was dispatched a residence Monday for an unknown medical call but learned upon arriving that a person had been shot, according to a news release from the Laurens County Sheriff’s Department.

Melvin Dunlap, 62, was pronounced dead on the scene by the Laurens County coroner.

Roy Waters was taken into custody and was charged with murder, the release stated.

The Laurens County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
