A new Waffle House restaurant under construction on Gray Highway in Macon is expected to open after the first of the year.

The restaurant is at 1330 Gray Highway. The company would not disclose its size or how many employees would work there. However, a typical restaurant is about 1,200 square feet and employs 20-to-30 workers, company spokeswoman Kelly Thrasher said in an email.

Another Waffle House opened two weeks ago at 1055 Ga. 96 in Warner Robins, Thrasher said.

“The Macon area is a growing market for us, and we are excited to add these two new locations,” she said.
