Atlas Road Crew at Billy’s Clubhouse

It’s always great to hear a young band playing new music that is obviously influenced by classic ’70s era rock ’n’ roll. Atlas Road Crew, from Columbia, S.C., does it right. Their songs are packed with good, simple lyrics, and a rocking rhythm that will have you dancing and even singing along even though it’s your first time hearing them. 21 and up. 10 p.m. Free.

The Grapevine at the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame

This going to be an incredible homecoming for Mercer University. This year, they have a football game as well as a basketball game, and the whole city is caught up in the orange and black spirit. To help celebrate, NewTown Macon, Main Street Macon and the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame have teamed up to bring the Grapevine for the ultimate homecoming tailgating party. The Grapevine will be performing your favorite golden oldies in front of the hall of fame from 1-3 p.m. This is a family friendly event. Free.

Sunday November 24

Skydog 67 at Central City Park

Every year, the music lovers of Macon get together to celebrate the life and music of Duane Allman. Everyone reminisces about the days when “The Brothers” used to play their free shows in Central City Park so it makes since that the tradition continues right there. This year, the organizers ask everyone to bring at least 10 canned goods as an entry fee. The cans collected will help benefit the Macon Rescue Mission. Event starts at noon. This is a family friendly event.

Saint Francis at the Hummingbird Stage and Taproom

Saint Francis has been performing the Early Bird Special the day before Thanksgiving for seven years now. It’s as much a part of Thanksgiving in Macon as dinner with the family the next day. Along with the great music Saint Francis brings to the stage, it’s about catching up with friends and feeling the joy of the season. 21 and up. 7:30 p.m. Free.

DJ Shawty Slim at Fowl Play

We all know and love a DJ Shawty Slim party. This guy travels the world DJing and he still can’t wait to come home to play in front of the folks in downtown Macon. You’ll hear everything from electronic and hip-hop, to ’70s and ’80s dance favorite, and everything in between. And what better day to hear all those great sounds than on Thanksgiving? You’ve spent the whole day with the family and now it’s time to get out and let loose. 21 and up. 10 p.m. Free.
