Tuesday’s high temperature in Macon is expected to be at least 20 degrees cooler than Monday’s record.

The mercury climbed to 85 degrees shortly before 2 p.m. Monday, breaking the previous record of 83 degrees set Nov. 18, 2003 at the Middle Georgia Regional Airport.

Winds of change out of the northwest will gust to about 20 miles per hour as Tuesday’s high is only forecast to reach 63.

By Wednesday morning, the city will bottom out at about 37 degrees.
